Frequently Asked Questions


Please DO NOT bring your child to class if they are unwell. If your child has an extended illness or injury, please notify the centre as soon as possible so that we can make arrangements for future classes.

Missed Classes

If you have to miss your usual class, you have the opportunity to attend a make-up class instead. Each student is entitled to 2 make-up classes each term. There are no refunds or credits given for missed classes. You can book into a make-up class by sending a text message with your preferred date and time to 0432 582 799 (text only). Please note that make-up classes must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Make-up classes must be completed in the same term as the missed class, they cannot be carried forward to the following term.

Class Changes

Subject to availability, you are welcome to change your class time and day.


Our fees are non-refundable once the term begins. Please consider carefully before enrolling. If you are no longer able to attend the class you have booked in for, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to offer you alternatives for future classes.

Public Holidays

We are closed on all public holidays unless otherwise specified.

Safety and Hygiene

Please do not leave your child unattended, you are responsible for your child’s safety.

For the safety of your child, please do not allow them to return to the equipment at the end of the lesson.

THE EQUIPMENT IS CLOSED AT MAT TIME – there is a time for everything.┬áThe mat time activities are very important and we want every child to have the opportunity to participate in them.

It is important that your little ones get used to the routines so please follow your teachers lead.

Any toys or small equipment that have been sucked or mouthed will need to be washed. Please give them to the staff for washing. Spills on equipment must be reported to the staff for cleaning.

Shoes OFF in the Gym

For both guardians and children!

Children need to experience the activities with bare feet. Gripping and feeling tactile surfaces with their feet while climbing and balancing on the equipment is essential to their motor development. It allows them to experience the activities using all their senses. We request that parents remove their shoes as well for the cleanliness and hygiene of the floor and equipment.

The Circuit

Lots of fun!

There are many activities on the equipment circuit. Please do not feel pressured to do everything. Let your child go at his/her own pace, experiencing each activity to the full. There will be some activities your child will want to repeat again and again. They are simply mastering new skills, let them have their own GymbaROO experience.

Why Massage?

This is the gift of touch, as essential as food and water. Massage helps develop body awareness and stimulates muscle tone. It is also a special bonding opportunity for you and your child.

Treasure Bag

Each term we have a theme, from which we choose specific animals or items to come out of the Treasure Bag each week. If you have something relating to the weeks theme please bring it along to class. This gives your child the excitement of seeing their special treasure pulled out of the bag. The visualisation book word and picture match the treasure bag item. The list of items are provided on a Treasure Bag list.

Name Recognition

The names are set out in the waiting area so that the children can learn to recognise their own name and realise that their name is their symbol. Encourage your child to find their own name in a positive way and place it in their vest.

Gymbaroo Visualisation Book

The children also see their name on their book, and at the end of their class they need to listen for their name. Please bring your child’s book to every class, and encourage them to place it in the basket at the beginning of their lesson. The word for the week and the stamp can be glued in the book in the waiting area. The visualisation book pictures and words give you the opportunity to extend Gymbaroo at home.


Distinguishing right and left:

We always put a stamp on the right hand. The verbal cue of stamp on your right hand reinforces the right side, which in time becomes an automatic response. Older children soon learn to distinguish between their right stamp side and their left. If your child prefers not to receive a stamp on their hand, please let us know.

Strategies For Co-Operation

You are not alone!

We have strategies that we can suggest if your child is struggling to sit through the mat time section of the lesson. Each child is different and can respond in many ways to new situations. It usually takes 3 to 4 weeks for a new child to settle in. Some children prefer to sit and watch at mat time, joining in later in the term when they feel more secure. Please do not feel pressured if you child is not conforming during the lesson, we will help you through this time.
